Spanish Language Arts

We will have a final meeting Thursday morning at 10am on Zoom with both teachers.

This week we will read a variety of Spanish books.

Our objectives will be:

  • ready various books in Spanish (Epic! collection assignment)
  • Write about your favorite Spanish book (Who are the characters? What is the setting? What happens in the beginning? The middle? The end?)
  • listen to Ms.Ivary read the book Si es yes and No is no. (use the comprehension skill summary while reading)
  • focus on using correct spelling in sentences on BOTH our Vamos a corregir pages
  • practice using the reading strategy summary while reading this week

Videos for the remaining Vamos a corregir pages will be available on Google Classroom this summer.

Matemáticas

This week we will finish working on Chapter 19 El dinero.

Our objectives will be:

  • count money in cents us to $1 using the ‘count on’ strategy
  • choose the correct value of coins when buying items
  • use different combinations of coins to show the same value
  • add to find the cost of items and subtract to find the change
  • solve real world problems involving addition subtraction of money

We will be finishing our whirl wind trip through the human anatomy and its systems this week.  Students will continue to work with Brainpop Jr. and Epic! books to watch lessons and do activities.

       Digestive system

Our objectives are to:

  • Identify the muscular and nervous systems
  • Recall basic facts about the muscular and nervous systems
  • Understand the importance of exercise to your health

History and Geography

This week we finish our unit with Lewis and Clark and the Corps of Discovery finally making it to the Pacific Ocean.  Our journal activity this week will be to make an entry as if we were one of the members of the expedition. Students will also be taking their assessment this week.

                   Sacagawea

Our objectives are to:

  • Locate the Rocky Mountains, Mississippi and Missouri Rivers,  and the Louisiana Territory on a map
  • Explain the reasons that Lewis and Clark went on their expedition
  • Understand that there were many, many Native American tribes already living in the Louisiana Territory before the Lewis and Clark expedition
  • Recall basic facts about Lewis and Clark’s encounters with Native Americans
