La Lectura

This week we will read about El bosque (The Forest). Our objectives will be:

  • ready various books about El bosque to broaden our vocabulary (Epic! collection assignment)
  • write about what we can see in the forest. (What animals do you see? What plants do you see?)
  • listen to Ms.Ivary read the book Pajarito Llorónanswer comprehension questions after reading
  • focus on using correct verb conjugations in sentences on our Vamos a corregir and while reading with Ms.Ivary
  • practice continuing to use the reading strategy asking questions before, during and after. while reading this week (Who? What? Where? Why?)

Las matemáticas

This week we will be working on Chapter 16- Numbers to 100 we will also begin adding numbers to 100. Our objectives will be:

  • order numbers to 100
  • find the missing numbers in a number pattern
  • add a 2-digit number and 1-digit or two 2-digit numbers without regrouping
  • add a 2-digit number and a 1-digit number with regrouping

Science

           Writing about mines

This week we are taking a pausing point in our science domain and reviewing what we have learned so far in this unit.  We will be working on the Rocks and Minerals Interactive Folder project that is in your new packet material.

Our objectives will be to:

           Landform poems

  • identify the different types of rocks and give examples of each
  • label and describe the layers of the earth
  • define key vocabulary words from this domain
  • understand the basic rock cycle

History & Geography

This week we are beginning our next unit on the American frontier and the explorers that played an important role in the westward expansion of the United States. We will be learning about Daniel Boone and the Wilderness Road.

 

 

 

Our objectives will be to:

  • locate the Appalachian Mountains on a map
  • recall basic facts about Daniel Boone
  • understand that Daniel Boone was a trailblazer
  • understand what the phrase Wilderness Road refers to
