Suggested Daily English Schedule

 

English Zoom Meetings

Kindergarten individual Zoom meetings are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday between  1 – 2:30,  or unless otherwise arranged.

Our whole class Zoom meetings are on Fridays at 1 pm.  Check  Google  classroom for link.

In Google Classrooms the students have each received a copy of this schedule. They can “color in” each square as they complete the assignment.

Week 29 Kindergarten News

Learning about George Washington Carver

During Spring Break we will not upload any new assignments. Students can use this time to catch up on past assignments and explore some of the enrichment activities listed in our Google Classroom. We will continue to have our Spanish and English  Zoom meetings.  Our English whole class Zoom meeting will be a special sharing meeting with crazy hair on Friday.

 

Science

        Seed planting project

When we return from Spring Break we will continue with our Plants science domain. The students will have opportunities to do an experiment and a project along with their reading/listening assignments and activities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our objectives for April 13 – 17 will be to:

                    Observation chart

              Excited to plant seeds!

  Plants come in all sizes

  • Identify the root, stem, leaf, flower, and seed of a plant
  • explain that roots anchor the plant and take in water and nutrients
  • explain that stems support the plant and carry water and nutrients to the various parts of the plant
  • understand that the plant makes its own food in its leaves
  • understand that plants are living things
  • understand that seeds are the beginning of new plants

History & Geography

   Using the a loom like a weaver

Our next lessons  will be about tradespeople: Dressmakers, Tailors, Hatters, and Cobblers.  The class will get to hear the story of the Elves and the Shoemaker.  The students will do a project where they can design their own piece of clothing or shoe and list the trades person who would make it along with the material and tools they would use.

 

 

Our objectives for April 13 – 17 will be to:

  • Weaving with sticks and yarn

    Identify, and associate with the appropriate trade, the tools used by these tradespeople

  • understand that the ready-made clothing was not available for sale in colonial shops; clothing was made to order according to the exact measurements of each person
  • explain how the tradespeople in colonial towns saved farming families time and effort

 

English Sight Words

Our words for the week: goes, must.  Students will read the poems ‘Bee’ and ‘I’m a Little Honeybee’ and find the new sight words for the week along with other sight words they recognize.

Our goals for April 13 – 17 will be to do:

  • Green Binder new sight words and handwriting sheet L
  • Spelling City Kinder sight words ‘E and F” list
  • Spelling sort 15
