Our objectives were to:

• understand that the Inca established a far-ranging Empire in the Andes Mountains of Peru and Chile many, many years ago
• recall that Machu Picchu is an Incan city
• understand that much of what we know about the Inca is because of the work of archaeologists
• identify the area in which the Incas lived
• understand that the Inca had a religion, leaders, town, and farming

IMG_2532Ms. Laura’s H&G group:

We started our study of The War of 1812 by examining the causes and the actual events leading up to 1812.  We added to the timeline we started in our unit about The Constitution.  The students worked together to prepare skits illustrating some of the problems America was having in dealing with the British and the Native Americans and what a party hosted by Dolley Madison must have been like!  We then debated whether or not to declare war on Great Britain.  President James Madison DID declare war at the end of class.

For handwriting we worked one the letters g, h, and reviewed a, b, and 20170309_110902.jpgd. Our phonics this week was reviewing the subject and predicate in a sentence as well as using proper punctuation.  In our journals we wrote about our favorite way to read a book and which Dr. Seuss book we like the most and why.20170307_102213.jpg
